Pension supplements and fringe benefits

As recipient of a disability pension, you may be entitled to pension supplements and fringe benefits, in accordance with your family status and the degree of incapacity that has been established for you. These supplements and benefits vary based on your income, as hereby detailed.

Full increment for a spouse and children

The recipient of a disability pension may be entitled to a pension increment for a spouse and children ("dependents" increment), in accordance with the degree of incapacity that has been established for him.

Whether a degree of incapacity has been established for you at 74%, 65% or 60%, and you are earning more than NIS 2,031 (as of January 1, 2017), you may be entitled to a full dependents increment (in the same manner a person with 100% degree of incapacity does).

The increment is paid for a spouse (wife or husband) that meets the following prerequisites:

  1. All spouse's income amount to up to NIS 5,514 (as of January 2017).
  2. The spouse does not receive any other pension

The pension and the supplement for a spouse and children decrease gradually, according to disability pension recipient's income from work and from other sources.

Additional monthly pension (graduated)

If, beside the disability pension that was paid to you, you were entitled to an additional monthly pension (AMP), you will continue receiving an AMP rate of 100% during the first year on which you started receiving an incentive pension. The following years, AMP entitlements will decrease gradually:

  • During the second year since receipt of incentive pension, you will receive AMP rate of 75%.
  • During thrid year since receipt of incentive pension, you will receive AMP rate of 50%.
  • During fourth year since receipt of incentive pension, you will receive AMP rate of 25%.
  • As of fifth year, AMP will not be paid.

Please note: If your income would decrease and you would resume receiving a disability pension, you would then receive AMP in full, as you were used to in the past.

Fringe benefits

The recipient of an incentive pension will continue receiving fringe benefits from other institutions and organizations in full for a period of 3 years. For instance: discounts regarding municipal tax (Arnona), water, electricity and so on.

After 3 years, fringe benefits are granted with respect to the rate of incentive pension that is actually paid to you.

If you are entitled to a graduated AMP, you will continue receiving fringe benefits in full for 7 years, and it is only afterwards that they will depend on the incentive pension paid to you.

Please note: If your income would decrease and you would resume receiving a disability pension, you would also receive fringe benefits in full.
